Description
Toccin Apparel is seeking a talented Assistant / Junior Wovens Designer for Women's Wear to join our creative team in New York. This full-time, on-site position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of our women's woven collections, emphasizing style and comfort.
In this role, you will collaborate with senior designers to create unique textile designs and articulate the brand’s aesthetic. You will gain hands-on experience in the apparel industry, working on diverse projects that align with Toccin Apparel’s innovative approach to fashion. Responsibilities
- Assist in designing women’s woven garments and collections
- Collaborate closely with the design team on seasonal concepts
- Research current fashion trends and competitor offerings
- Develop fabric selections and color palettes that align with the brand's vision
- Create technical sketches and assist in sample development
- Participate in fittings and provide feedback on fit and function
- Support the preparation of presentations for internal reviews
- Maintain organized files of designs, fabrics, and supplier information
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in fashion design or related work in woven textiles
- Strong knowledge of textile properties and garment construction
- Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Good understanding of color theory and current trends in women's wear
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Passion for fashion and a willingness to learn and grow
