Picture a shift where you arrive just before dusk in Grand Rapids, MI, review your production orders, stage raw materials, and set precise run parameters. Through the night, you’ll keep mixers humming, packages labeled, and batches released to spec—helping customers around the world build, seal, and create.

Where You’ll Work

• Location: Grand Rapids, MI
• Schedule: 12-hr Night Shift (2-2-3 schedule), 6:00pm–6:30am
• Pay: $24.50 per hour + $1.00 shift differential

What a Night Looks Like

After verifying your work orders, you’ll identify and prepare raw materials and packaging, transport them safely to the appropriate line, and document start/finish times. You’ll operate processing equipment in accordance with procedures, monitor run rates, and make adjustments to keep production on target. Before releasing product, you’ll perform initial quality tests to confirm conformance to specifications. You’ll also label and package finished goods to H.B. Fuller standards, maintain housekeeping in your area, and complete any additional tasks requested by your Production Manager/Supervisor—all while following company quality expectations and EHS rules.

Core Responsibilities

• Stage and document raw materials/packaging ; report deviations and record process timing.
• Run mixing and processing equipment per instructions and SOPs.
• Monitor equipment status and sustain target run rates.
• Conduct initial product testing and release only when specifications are met.
• Verify labels and packaging compliance; ensure accurate labeling at every step.
• Package finished products to H.B. Fuller quality requirements.
• Comply with all quality, operating, and EHS procedures and expectations.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Production Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications Minimum

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent basic educational degree.
• Comfort with common software tools (e.g., MS Office).
• Ability to interpret work orders, production processes, safety rules, and quality procedures.
• Willingness to work shift schedules.

Preferred

• Experience mixing, reading batch tickets, and handling raw materials.
• Understanding of basic English.
• 1 year in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Physical & Work Environment

• Prolonged standing; frequent walking and stair climbing.
• Manual handling, reaching, stretching; stooping and bending.
• Routinely lift up to 55 lbs; up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Typical chemical manufacturing environment with normal temperature, dust, odor, and noise levels.

Compensation & Rewards

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $24.50 per hour + $1.00 Shift Differential.
