Peer Support Specialist - Foster Care (Union County, NC) Location: Union County, North Carolina. Residency in Union County is required. Field: This field‑based role primarily operates in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as needed, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training.\ Hours: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday.\ Travel: Some travel within your assigned region (facility or home visits) is expected. Job Description: The Peer Support Specialist engages with community partners, provides education, and strengthens relationships to support individuals and families navigating the CFSP Foster Care program. Responsibilities include: Engage in outreach, engagement, and follow‑up with members and their caregivers and families to support care management efforts. Support care managers as they advocate for foster parents and other caregivers, addressing their needs or challenges with various agencies and systems. Coordinate services and appointments, such as wellness reminders and arranging transportation. Assist the care manager in assessing and addressing unmet health‑related needs. Minimum Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams). Proven experience navigating healthcare software platforms.
