We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations for a manufacturing environment in Western North Carolina. This is a Contract to Hire position suited for someone with at least 2 years of experience who can manage core accounting activities with accuracy and consistency. The role will contribute to financial reporting, tax-related processes, and general ledger maintenance while partnering with internal teams to keep records current and compliant.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support month-end close activities.

• Assist with corporate tax filings and related documentation to help meet reporting obligations.

• Manage sales tax calculations, reporting, and recordkeeping in accordance with applicable requirements.

• Support the preparation of financial data used in internal reporting and compliance activities.

• Review accounting transactions for completeness and alignment with established procedures.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information needed for accounting and tax processes.

• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.

• Familiarity with ERP Systems and EpiCore is a Bonus!

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

• Proficiency in standard accounting systems and spreadsheet-based analysis.

• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a Contract role.
