Special Projects Coordinator (Asset Management) – Position #2601301 The TxDOT Asset Management Branch seeks a highly organized and motivated individual to support the department headquarters and 25 district offices statewide. The role involves managing sales contracts for salvage or surplus property, overseeing disposal processes, and utilizing asset management computer programs such as Excel, Access, and OnBase. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a one‑to‑one basis. Graduate‑level education may also be substituted for experience on a one‑to‑one basis. Experience Three (3) years of experience in business analysis, project or program administration, or related work. Full‑time or prorated part‑time experience can satisfy this requirement. Graduate‑level education may be used to substitute for experience on a one‑to‑one basis. Licenses and Certifications Valid driver’s license required. The position requires driving a state vehicle. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Considerable knowledge of: Applicable analysis methodologies Statistical analysis methodologies and reporting procedures Governmental laws, rules, and regulations related to information and IT systems Program or project planning, development, and management methodologies Human resources management policies and practices Modeling principles and practices Management information systems Auditing and investigative methods, practices, and procedures Generally accepted accounting principles, procedures, and terminology Budgeting methods and procedures Contract negotiation, development, and management methods Applicable laws, rules, and regulations Some knowledge of: Investigative practices and procedures Maintaining effective working relationships with others Prioritizing and organizing work assignments Preparing and maintaining confidential records, files, and reports Preparing technical and statistical reports Using computers and related programs Establishing plans and setting objectives that support overall business strategy Developing, interpreting, and implementing policies, procedures, and technical information Negotiating settlements without damaging relationships Clear and concise presentation of ideas Facilitating groups and workshops Research and analysis methodologies Public relations and relationship building Coordinating labor, materials, and equipment Persuasion and negotiation of critical issues Administrative support practices, including writing and record keeping Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Sedentary work; lift up to 10 lbs; occasional carrying of files and small tools.
