Full Time Manual Labor Delray Beach, FL, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 3103 About the Job: We are seeking a confident and service-focused Banquet Captain to help lead our banquets team in delivering exceptional event experiences at The Seagate. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for creating seamless, high-quality service. The Banquet Captain will support the Banquet Director by supervising, training, and guiding the banquet service team to ensure each event is executed flawlessly. This position works closely with the Banquet Director, Catering Director, and Banquet Chef to uphold The Seagate’s standards and ensure guest satisfaction from setup to breakdown. What You Do: Supervise and assist in setting up assigned catered functions, ensuring adherence to floor plans, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and management standards. Ensure all banquet configurations and equipment use meet established guidelines. Oversee event breakdowns, including furniture removal and room resetting as per event specifications. Inspect banquet equipment for cleanliness, defects, and maintenance needs. Periodically clean meeting and event spaces, changing linens and arranging chairs as necessary. Conduct pre-function meetings, review staffing, menus, and service steps, and inspect uniforms for each event. Resolve guest complaints promptly within scope or refer to management when necessary. Maintain detailed knowledge of hotel function spaces, equipment, and event setups. Ensure efficient and courteous guest service, adhering to food handling, TIPS, sanitation, and health department guidelines. Assist in back-of-house tasks such as food expediting, refreshing service stations, and providing beverage service during events. Participate in meetings with Banquet and Executive Chefs to review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event specifics. Lead and motivate banquet service staff to deliver exceptional guest service before, during, and after events. Perform duties in both indoor and outdoor settings, managing events in all weather conditions throughout the year. Complete opening and closing checklists and event recaps at the conclusion of each event. Perform other duties as necessary. What You Bring to the Table: Previous experience in a banquet or hospitality leadership role preferred. High school diploma or equivalent education required. Knowledge of banquet setup, equipment use, and event execution. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension. Work tasks may occur indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures. Must be capable of bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, and performing manual tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and occasional climbing. Ability to stand and maintain mobility for lengthy shifts. Double shifts may be required in the height of season. Capable of regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
