Radiology Technologist

Job Details Job Location: SURGICAL HOSPITAL - MANHATTAN, KS 66502 Position Type: Part Time - 28 hrs or less per week Education Level: Radiology Tech License Job Shift: Days - 8 hr shifts Role and Responsibilities The technologist will perform essential duties to assist the medical staff with the performance of major and/or minor operative procedures within the Operating Room, Pain Management, or Inpatient areas. This will include, but is not limited to, safely operating the fluoroscopic imaging equipment under the direction of a physician. In addition, they will perform portable diagnostic procedures with state-of-the-art digital equipment as part of pre-operative, operative, and/or post-operative assessment of the patient. Completes duties according to the requirements of each approved procedure requiring radiological support. Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduled procedures according to physician's preference card. Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition. Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders and direction. Documents records and other forms accurately adhering to approved policies and procedures. Confirms that all persons in the room are properly shielded before activating x-ray. Communicates information about the patient\'s status to other persons responsible for care of the patient. Applies the prescribed procedures to competently perform the radiologic technologist functions. Follows principles and aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure. Remains available during the procedure to provide timely response to physician or patient needs. Follows manufacturer\'s specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedures. Responds to emergency situations with competence and composure. Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies and equipment by adhering to cleaning, care, storage and calibration procedures as directed. Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety. Maintains adequate supplies to provide immediate availability during the procedure. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and the physician. Qualifications License: Kansas Radiologic Technologist License (required) Certification: A.R.R.T. Certification or Registry Eligible (must obtain within 30 days of hire) Certification: Current BLS Certification Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs. Ability to stand for long periods, occasional overhead, and low reaching. Ability to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
