This is an onsite, day shift position typically working Monday - Friday. The primary purpose of this job is to perform a variety of duties pertaining to the setup, calibration, and maintenance of additive equipment, including metal 3D printing machines, associated post-processing equipment, and any ancillary equipment used in the Additive Manufacturing process for the manufacturing of high-performance components in the aerospace and defense industry. This role requires skill in diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems and proficiency in operating and maintaining industrial equipment.This is a great position for someone with high mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and prior experience as an automotive or aviation technician interested in pivoting into the additive manufacturing space. Opportunities for growth and career advancement are available.Primary Responsibilities:Set up, operate, turn over and maintain various additive manufacturing printers while following ATI, industry, and customer procedures, standards, and specificationsRemove any build supports associated with the printing processSet up, operate, turn over and maintain associated post-processing and ancillary equipment, including EDM, bandsaw, de-powder machines, and hand-grinding toolsOperate a handheld grinder, power tools, and basic hand toolsEnsure powder handling is done in accordance with ATI policies to ensure traceability and purityCollaborate with other team members to coordinate schedules for any machine-required maintenance Partner with contractors and service technicians when equipment is being serviced and/or repairedMonitor inventory of all consumables to ensure sufficient stock for productionProactively utilize problem-solving skills if there is an issue with a machine prior to calling maintenancePerform all necessary daily, weekly, and monthly tasks such as inspecting to make sure filters are clean on – Velo, EOS, SLM 3D metal printersPerform all necessary facility and machine maintenance tasks periodicallyFollow and practice prescribed safety regulationsPerform minor repair work including replacing defective parts, clean, oil, and check calibration of instrumentsMaintain related logs and record as well as any related administrative support for departmentStrong attention to detail and finesse when handling partsDaily cleaning responsibilities pertaining to the machines and work areaOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications:Trade school certificate in Machining, Manufacturing or another technical programMust have at least 1 year of additive manufacturing experience or 7 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing maintenance or mechanical fieldKnowledge of manufacturingPosition requires a US Person due to government security clearance requirementsMust be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DoE) and Department of Defense (DoD) Classified Clearance – ATI-sponsoredPreferred Qualifications:Aerospace, Defense, and Space industry experienceSkills and Needs:Mechanically incline and feels comfortable around machinesComfortable using Microsoft Office platform – Outlook, Teams, Word, ExcelStrong ability to multitaskEmbraces change, the requirements of this role change every minuteAbility to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teamsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to work late and/or nights and weekends if neededWe thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
