CNC Machinist – Bristol, RI
Pay: $30–$35+/hour
Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift: Mon-Fri | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for independently setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, ensuring precision, efficiency, and high-quality output. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and experienced in troubleshooting machining processes while maintaining strict quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC milling and turning equipment with minimal supervision
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to produce precision components
- Install fixtures, align materials, and load tooling while setting offsets and verifying tool paths
- Perform first article inspections and make adjustments to meet tight tolerances
- Troubleshoot machining and setup issues related to tooling, programming, or equipment performance
- Collaborate with programmers and operators to improve setup efficiency and product quality
- Maintain accurate documentation for tooling, setups, and part specifications
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical inspection equipment
- Modify basic G-code elements (feeds, speeds, offsets) as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
What You Bring
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience (mills and lathes)
- 3+ years of setup experience on multi-axis equipment (including live tooling or grinding)
- Experience working in high-mix, low-volume production environments
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proven troubleshooting skills with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with inspection tools and quality verification processes
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and reliability
