Research Data Manager (Data Aide 3) – GI This Cancer Clinical Research Data Manager position is hybrid and may require full-time onsite presence at times. We seek an GI Research Data Manager to help enact our mission to reduce cancer mortality through comprehensive programs of cancer research, treatment, education, and outreach. You will work with a leading‑edge community of faculty and staff who are fundamentally changing the world of healthcare in the cancer arena. Duties Establish complex record‑keeping procedures, including cross‑indexing by several factors and designing necessary forms. Maintain existing databases and develop guidelines to ensure data integrity; may integrate data from several sources. Identify and select usable data from extremely subtle and complex data patterns, applying practical understanding. Utilize computer applications to manipulate and report complex data. Develop new tools to assist with data collection and analysis. Work with data providers to discuss and clarify data ambiguities, inconsistencies, etc. Perform audits of own work or that of others to ensure conformance with established procedure. Select and apply appropriate formulas, computer programs, or applications depending on data content. May provide some administrative support. Hybrid work agreement. Other duties may also be assigned. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of the principles of clinical research and federal regulations. Familiarity with IRB guidelines and regulations. Previous experience with clinical trials and data management. Education & Experience (Required) High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent and three years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Required) Strong clerical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Excellent computer skills; familiarity and competency with using Excel, REDCap, and various statistical/data management programs (e.g., Tableau, JMP, R). Ability to exercise judgment and employ basic reasoning skills. Strong attention to detail. Physical Requirements Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity. Occasionally use a telephone. Rarely writing by hand. Compensation & Benefits The expected hourly wage for this position is $35.30 to $41.74 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire. Final wages will be determined based on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
