About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Same Day Surgery / PACU Registered Nurse – Vermont Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Vermont

Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 2-3 days per week on-call, call required two weekends per month Highlights:

• 8-bay Same Day Surgery Center with up to 17 patients per day, serving adult and geriatric populations
• Dual-role position: primarily PACU with OR assistance as needed in a 2-operating room, 1-procedure room environment
• Cerner EMR system with hospital-provided scrubs
• Mostly outpatient procedures with limited inpatient cases for patients ages 16 and older
• Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia care responsibilities including admission and discharge
• Call compensation at $4/hour with 1.25x multiplier for call-back, holiday, and overtime

Requirements:

• Current Vermont RN license
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years Same Day Surgery experience required
• Phase I and Phase II/PACU experience required
• Experience working in a rural or outpatient surgical facility required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Strong IV start skills and patient admission/discharge experience required
• Ability to prepare OR for surgery (pre-op), not just patient preparation
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• Reliable personal vehicle required (rural community without public transportation)
• Flexibility to work holiday blocks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year periods)
• Availability for on-call duties is mandatory
