Position Specific Performance Expectations:
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary May precept student nurses and new hires.
- Employs critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Partners with the healthcare consumer to implement a patient centered plan of care.
- Demonstrates caring attitudes and behaviors to develop therapeutic relationships.
- Uses evidence-based interventions and strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Integrates critical thinking and technology solutions.
- Delegates according to the health, safety and welfare of the patients we serve.

- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Upholds regulatory requirements to ensure continual compliance with departmental, hospital, state and federal regulations and policies.
- Follows all policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, public and staff.
- Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements; attends departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated timeframes.
- Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all patients, staff and vendors.
- Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time.
- Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions)
- Must be able to legally work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable)
- Must complete employee health meeting
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Unencumbered RN License - Colorado or Compact State required
- Current Certification BLS- required
- ACLS - required within 1 year
- PALS or ENPC - required within 1 year
- Med/Surg experience preferred
