Marketing Project Specialist

Position Summary Aniplex of America Inc. (Santa Monica, California) is seeking an organized and detail oriented Marketing Project Specialist. This role manages marketing projects across anime production, games, merchandise, and live events from planning through delivery, ensuring timelines, billing, assets, contracts, vendors, and cross‑company partnerships are aligned and successfully delivered. The position has a hybrid schedule; employees are expected to work onsite in the Santa Monica office at least two days per week. Key Job Responsibilities Manage timelines for launches, releases, events, and other campaigns; break marketing plans into tasks, dependencies, milestones, and track progress. Maintain a marketing calendar for multiple shows and coordinate with departments on asset creation, delivery, and announcement timing. Communicate between marketing (social, PR, paid media), localization, production, and other stakeholders (licensing, product development, vendors, design) to manage approvals and feedback loops. Plan marketing events: logistics, staffing, contracts, booth layout, sponsorships, vendors, payments, insurance, and cancellation/penalties; handle pre‑ and on‑site requirements for booth builds, signage, materials, giveaways, ensuring localization accuracy, licensor approvals, and brand consistency. Track invoicing and payments, ensuring costs are allocated to the correct IPs and projects. Identify, assess, and manage external vendors and partner companies; review proposals, scopes of work, and performance. Communicate and maintain relationships internally and with external partners and agencies to ensure creative assets or campaigns align with the brand tone and positioning. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in marketing or project management with understanding of marketing principles, strategies, digital media, and social platforms. Strong project management skills; comfortable juggling many moving parts, documenting and following through, reviewing contracts, terms, and procurement. Experience managing multiple campaigns, timelines, billing, invoicing, and other operational details. Hands‑on experience with conventions, live events, or experiential marketing. Comfortable with last‑minute changes, shifting priorities, and able to remain calm when plans change. Detail‑oriented yet big‑picture aware. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with varied levels of management, peers, and partners across multiple teams. Self‑motivated, organized, with good time management, attention to detail, and creative problem‑solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Calendar, Drive, Forms, Sheets). Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) is a plus. Preferred familiarity with anime, games, fan‑driven experiences; Japanese‑English bilingual skill is a plus. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
