Job Opportunity

The Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) certifies, provides, and/or financially supports a network of services for people with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. This position is in the Mississippi Department of Mental Health's Central Office, which provides the overall statewide administrative functions for the programs and services that fall under the oversight of the agency.

About the Position: This position is available in the MS Department of Mental Health's (DMH) Division of Crisis Response. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Reviewing programs and services certified by DMH through on-site reviews for compliance with DMH Operational Standards and other official regulations.
• Responsible for written reports containing findings during on-site reviews.
• Presenting findings from on-site reviews in group meetings.
• Collaborating with other DMH staff as needed.
• Occasional interaction with people receiving services who may have a mental illness, substance use disorder, and/or intellectual and developmental disorders.
• Occasional travel required throughout the state with overnight stays on occasion.

What you'll need to be successful:

• Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Adobe.
• Knowledge of the DMH certification review process.
• Knowledge of DMH's certified provider network.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines for assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience.

• Excellent working knowledge of the DMH Operational Standards and other official regulations pertaining to provider certification.
• Experience in at least one agency programmatic area (i.e., mental health, substance use, and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities).
• Proficiency adapting to current Certification computer programs and proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
• Experience with on-site agency reviews.
