The psychiatrist will work closely with families, schools, and community resources to ensure continuity of care and support for young patients.Our outpatient programs are comprehensive and include:Full-time and part-time psychiatristsPsychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs)Individual outpatient services provided by qualified psychologists and therapistsSpecialized group therapy programsAdolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)Adult Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (CD-IOP)Role ResponsibilitiesAs an Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will:Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans for children and adolescents.Provide medication management and ongoing therapeutic support for patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions.Collaborate with PMHNPs, nurses, psychologists, therapists, and families as part of a treatment team.Provide supervision of PMHNPs, as needed.Offer co-signatures for therapists to support clinical documentation.Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards for psychiatric care.Call ResponsibilitiesDeaconess Cross Pointe (DCP) offers a full continuum of behavioral health services, including outpatient programs and a fully accredited 60-bed inpatient facility, ensuring comprehensive care at all levels. Outpatient psychiatrists share on-call duties with all full-time psychiatrists and inpatient PMHNPs.Weeknight coverage: Typically, once every two weeks (5:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.), responsible for triaging intake calls, providing dispositions, and issuing admission orders.Weekend coverage: Approximately one in six weekends, responsible for triaging intake calls and rounding on inpatients Saturday and Sunday. Advanced Practice Nurses provide support every weekend alongside the psychiatrist.Candidate QualificationsWe are seeking a psychiatrist leader with the following qualifications:Board certification or eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (MD or DO).Eligible for or currently holding an active medical license in the states of Indiana and Kentucky.Experience in outpatient psychiatry and familiarity with intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other members of an interdisciplinary team.Excellent communication skills and a passion for working with children, adolescents, and families.Why Join Us?This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, team-based setting where psychiatrists, PMHNP-BCs, nurses, psychologists, and therapists collaborate to provide comprehensive mental health services.
