Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time - Monday - Friday - dayshift

Role Summary

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutrition services to both adult and pediatric patients in a state-operated hospital setting. This role is responsible for assessing nutritional needs, developing and monitoring individualized nutrition care plans, and collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes. The Dietitian will also help ensure nutrition services and food service operations meet established safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial, annual, quarterly, and high-risk nutritional assessments to identify individual dietary needs and areas of concern.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized nutrition care plans based on nutritional status, dietary intake, weight trends, and clinical needs.
• Monitor patient progress and provide evidence-based nutrition interventions and recommendations using Nutrition Care Manual Standardized Terminology.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including diet histories, assessments, progress notes, and changes to nutrition care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, dietary personnel, and other healthcare professionals to address complex nutritional needs and support coordinated patient care.
• Monitor food service operations to ensure nutritional adequacy and safe food handling practices.
• Ensure nutrition services and documentation comply with hospital policies and applicable Medicare, Medicaid, CMS, and The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Indiana Dietitian License.
• Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Prior experience with the National School Lunch Program for Children.
• Experience working with both adult and pediatric populations.
• Prior experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and The Joint Commission regulatory requirements.
• Strong clinical assessment, nutrition care planning, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a residential, hospital, or psychiatric facility is highly desired.
• Previous experience working with Oracle Cerner preferred.
