As a Medical Technologist , you will play a critical role in accurate and timely laboratory testing that supports the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions. You will operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory instrumentation, analyze and verify test results, adhere to quality assurance and regulatory standards, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. A typical day for a Medical Technologist may include: Confirming abnormal results and institutes correct follow-up procedures; developing solutions to problems concerning the generation of laboratory data, correlates laboratory results with regard to previous results and diagnosis, Evaluating new techniques, instruments, and procedures as required, Follows proper procedures for reporting and documenting laboratory test results and reports, Instituting proper measures to maintain accuracy and precision, Documenting corrective actions and promptly notifies supervisor when quality control results exceed tolerance limits, Integrating and relating data generated by the various laboratory sections and makes judgments regarding possible discrepancies, Performing all types of analytical testing on specimens with accuracy, precision, and efficiency under the direction of a pathologist, Performing and documents quality control according to established protocols, Making judgments concerning the results of quality control procedures, Performing procedures in two or more functional sections of the medical laboratory, Recognizing, evaluates, and solves specimen problems and properly follows procedures for rejection of specimens, Performing all other duties as assigned, This role might be for you if: Clear, professional communication defines how you collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow laboratory professionals.
