Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support precision manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machine tools, automation, and plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, complete repairs, and safely return equipment to production.
• Troubleshoot CNC controls, PLCs, servo and spindle drives, motors, sensors, encoders, power supplies, wiring, control boards, and safety circuits.
• Repair and maintain mechanical systems including spindles, ball screws, bearings, turrets, chucks, tool changers, coolant systems, lubrication systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors.
• Troubleshoot integrated automation systems involving FANUC robots, robotic tending, pallet pools, material handling, and CNC equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, fluid/filter changes, and component replacements.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective actions and critical spare parts.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, mechanical drawings, PLC/CNC diagnostics, and OEM manuals.
• Document troubleshooting, repairs, parts used, test results, and follow-up requirements.
• Assist with machine installations, moves, commissioning, upgrades, vendor service visits, and equipment acceptance testing.
• Perform assigned facility maintenance and repairs, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general plant equipment.
• Follow all required LOTO, electrical safety, machine guarding, PPE, lifting, and housekeeping procedures.
• Communicate effectively with operators, production, engineering, vendors, and other maintenance personnel.
• Assist with training maintenance staff and operators on basic equipment care and approved restart procedures.

Equipment & Systems

Experience with similar equipment is highly valued. The facility includes:

• DMG MORI / Mori Seiki CNC equipment
• NHX horizontal machining centers and linear pallet pool (LPP) cells
• DMC and DMU 65 five-axis machines
• NL, NT, and NTX turning/mill-turn platforms
• Okuma LU-series lathes and HOR automation cells
• Mazak and Haas CNC machines
• Swiss machines
• UNISIG gun-drill equipment
• EDM and saw equipment
• FANUC robots and robotic automation
• Pallet handling and tool changer systems
• Coolant, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Approximately 8–10 years of industrial maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic systems.
• Strong ability to independently troubleshoot and repair CNC machine tools and industrial equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and OEM service documentation.
• Experience using electrical meters, diagnostic instruments, precision tools, and other maintenance equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DMG MORI/Mori Seiki, Okuma, Mazak, Haas, or FANUC.
• Experience with CNC controls, PLCs, robotics, palletized machining systems, or automated production cells.
• OEM field-service or CNC technical training.
• Experience with five-axis machining equipment, mill-turn machines, Swiss machines, or similar high-precision manufacturing equipment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Work primarily takes place in a machine shop environment.
• Exposure to machine noise, coolants, oils, dust, fumes, heat, and moving equipment.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and work overhead.
• Requires frequent use of both hands and fine finger movements for troubleshooting and repairs.
• May occasionally lift or carry 21–50 pounds.
• Heavier components are moved using approved lifting equipment or assistance.
• Must be comfortable working in restricted machine areas and around industrial equipment.
• Required PPE and safety procedures must be followed at all times.
