Assistant Coach – High School Girls Soccer The position of "Assistant Coach – Middle and High School" is performed to apply leadership, supervisory and administrative skills in supporting the overall direction, coordination, and coaching of the assigned sport for student development. Essential Job Functions Familiarize with and comply with all school, district, league, and OSAA rules Assist the head coach in the coordination of all practices Analyze, demonstrate and explain basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of the sport to participants and, where appropriate, to parents Enforce program policies and recommend policy changes to the appropriate administrator Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members Model and enforce appropriate policies, rules, and regulations concerning sportsmanship Commit to ongoing growth of self and others When appropriate, work with others for fundraising and grant applications for the program Maintain equipment and supplies inventory and hold staff and students responsible for those supplies and equipment Supervise and manage site operation to assure safety and efficiency Maintain accurate staff and student records Establish standards of student behavior necessary for an orderly, productive environment Act as a contributing member of district-wide committees as needed Maintain prompt and regular attendance Other Job Functions Cooperate in arranging school-level public relations and publicity for special events and achievements as appropriate Maintain communication with community and parent groups Demonstrate a positive attitude toward the job and remain a flexible and innovative team builder Essential Job Requirements – Qualifications Experience: Prior job related experience in an appropriate sport/activity and/or coaching Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to work with coaches and students; knowledge of district policies and procedures regarding co‑curricular activities; ability to follow oral and written instructions, work independently with minimal supervision, perform a variety of tasks, adjust to flexible assignments (including occasional night work), and communicate with students, staff and parents Education: High School diploma or equivalent Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and Testing: Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability, Criminal Justice Fingerprinting Clearance, Current First Aid Card, and Bloodborne Pathogen Training.
