This position is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing farm equipment and diesel-powered vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing farm equipment and diesel-powered vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced agricultural environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, tractors, trucks, trailers, and other farm equipment
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake work, and preventative inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards
- Maintain a clean and organized shop area
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic (agricultural equipment experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Welding experience is a plus
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Shop and outdoor work environment
- Seasonal demands may require extended hours during planting and harvest
