What We Can Achieve Together: The Senior Paralegal assists attorneys in providing advanced or specialized legal services on matters relating to the Impact, Finance and Markets Team and other global strategies and clients as assigned to advance TNC priorities and appropriately manage risk. Under minimal supervision from a TNC attorney, the Senior Paralegal provides an advanced level of expertise in the management and coordination of legal services for assigned business units or projects, ensuring that transactions and activities are legally sound and consistent with TNC’s mission, authority, policies, and procedures. The Senior Paralegal applies advanced knowledge and skills to serve organizational needs in a highly efficient and effective manner. They have strong working knowledge of legal concepts and terminology, the ability to articulate relevant legal concepts and internal policies and procedures to others, and a solid understanding of the concept of legal liability and risk management. They are able to think critically and work independently with minimal supervision. This role is responsible for reviewing and analyzing legal documents, including non-disclosure agreements, contracts, and other transaction-related materials, while escalating matters for attorney review when appropriate. The position manages document version control and provides legal project coordination for impact investing, conservation transactions, contracts, regulatory compliance filings, and other specialized legal matters. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with binding commitments, organizational policies and procedures, and applicable legal requirements, while advising staff on compliance-related obligations. The role also maintains and manages official corporate legal files in both electronic and paper formats, drafts legal agreements, governance documents, memoranda, and correspondence for attorney review, and incorporates revisions as needed. Additionally, the position serves as a key liaison with business unit staff and external stakeholders, provides day-to-day support through calendar management, file organization, and meeting agenda preparation, and may assist attorneys with staff training initiatives. The role may also provide guidance and training to less experienced paralegals, legal support staff, and volunteers, while leading or contributing to cross-functional and departmental projects. We’re Looking for You: We are a global conservation organization looking for someone with experience to provide paralegal services for our programs. You’ll have exceptional communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, detail oriented, able to multi-task and ability to track and complete many items simultaneously and have great customer service skills! Analytical experience with finance is a plus too. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus at least [5] years of combined legal and administrative experience OR equivalent qualifications acquired through coursework and/or related job experience in area(s) of specialization that demonstrates assumption of significant responsibilities for supporting and coordinating complex or specialized legal work. Project management experience for efficient workflow, including leading cross functional and/or departmental projects or project management certification. Relevant transactional legal experience, including corporate governance matters. Experience conducting research on the Internet and other legal resources. Experience with MS Office, enterprise file management solutions such as SharePoint or iManage, and any other relevant technology, including utilizing artificial intelligence. Communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Writing skills, including experience editing and drafting legal documents. Attention to detail, project tracking, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills. Project and/or process management for efficient workflow. Experience drafting templates, checklists, guidance, or other aides to facilitate project efficiency. Desired Qualifications Experience with complex corporate and finance transactions. Familiarity with impact investing and climate and conservation work. Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural experience appreciated. Salary Information: The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $50,000.00-$79,000. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
