Details Work on a 31-bed mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit supporting medicine services Care for a variety of stepdown and med/surg patients Blended unit with typical Med-Surg ratios of 4:1 and PCU ratios of 3:1, though travelers may occasionally be flexed to 5:1 Med-Surg assignments based on unit needs Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Must be charge-capable on nights Floating required within the OSU organization as needed Uses EPIC for documentation and Omnicell for medication dispensing Requirements Active Ohio or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Minimum 1 year of RN experience required BLS and ACLS certifications required Charge RN experience preferred Comfortable managing CPAP/BiPAP and cardiac drip titrations Skilled in respiratory care including chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team utilization Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV therapy/phlebotomy Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted Additional Information Provide comprehensive nursing care to a mixed acuity population requiring stepdown and med/surg level care Manage feeding tube care, heparin protocols, and PCA administration Perform peripheral line care and management First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted at the same rate Former facility employees eligible for consideration after being away for 6 months or more Current OSU hospital system employees are not eligible for this traveler position RTO must be submitted with the contract and built in at time of booking, limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines American Traveler Job ID P-744149.
