Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a teaching hospital Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) totaling 36 hours per week Every other weekend required Float required within OSU system Call required Epic charting system used Requirements Active Ohio or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of like progressive care experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Teaching hospital experience preferred Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, and tracheostomy management Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team utilization Experience with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted Additional Information Provide care to progressive care/telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response Manage cardiac drips without titration and administer PCA medications Perform continuous bladder irrigation and feeding tube care as needed Use isolation precautions and PPE appropriately Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Local candidates accepted at the same rate American Traveler Job ID P-739131.
