Job Description
Perform quantity takeoffs from civil plans, grading plans, and utility drawings (earthwork cut/fill, wet utilities, paving, import/export/haul, erosion control/SWPPP)
Price bids across all disciplines: mass excavation/grading, wet utilities, paving, import/export & hauling, erosion control/SWPPP
Analyze plan sets, geotech reports, and specifications to identify scope, quantities, and risk/exceptions before bid submission
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/supplier quotes where scope is subbed out
Build cost estimates covering labor, equipment, material, trucking/hauling, and subcontractor pricing
Track and maintain historical unit costs/production rates to refine future bids
Prepare bid proposals, qualifications/exclusions, and bid-day submittal packages
Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as needed
Coordinate with Field Operations Leader and PM staff on constructability and schedule assumptions during estimating
Track win/loss on submitted bids and identify pricing trends
