This position focuses on Special Education and offers an impactful role working part-time with friendly staff and engaged learners. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year, providing a consistent weekday schedule of 27.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:15am to 1:42pm).
In this role, you will:
- Deliver targeted ELA instruction to a 3rd grade student group during one half of the day.
- Provide specialized math instruction to 6th graders during the other half.
- Adapt and modify lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs and IEP goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, other specialists, and families to ensure academic and social-emotional success for students.
- Monitor progress and maintain documentation in compliance with state and district regulations.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification.
- Experience with elementary and/or middle school special education caseloads, with ability to differentiate across subjects.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Comfort with hybrid or online communication, as interviews will be held via Zoom.
