Position Overview As an Auto Glass Technician Apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training to become a skilled auto glass technician. Upon successfully completing our program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and gain the essential skills needed for independent glass repair, replacement, and recalibration. We expect our apprentices to embody the Safelite Spirit, characterized by a positive attitude, a caring heart, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Your Responsibilities Learn and adapt through hands‑on and classroom training, including: Assisting with the installation and repair of auto glass. Recalibrating automotive safety systems, conducting troubleshooting and diagnostic tests. Offering additional services and products to customers. Study for and pass the Safelite certification exam demonstrating proficiency in installations and techniques. Safely operate company and customer vehicles, along with company‑provided tools and chemicals throughout the workday. Complete other duties as assigned. Adhere to all company policies and standards. What We Offer Schedule: Monday to Saturday, with Sundays and one weekday off. Competitive starting pay of $20.25 per hour, increasing to $24.00 per hour upon training and certification completion. Earn an extra $5 for each set of wiper blades added for customer safety. A benefits package valued at over $10,000, including a 401(k) plan with company matching, medical plans, paid time off, holidays, and volunteer days. Purchase additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours. Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement. Paid training and all the tools needed for success. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Valid state‑issued driver's license and any other required licenses to operate company vehicles. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Capacity to stand for extended periods of time, work in tight spaces, and perform physical tasks. Experience using various hand and power tools safely and effectively. Must comply with vehicle operation laws and agree to be monitored using in‑cab safety technology. Strong customer service orientation and professionalism. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and extremes. Willingness to work with chemicals and adhere to safety standards. Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate customer needs. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting. Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and orally. Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance as per company standards.
