Payroll Administrator
Our client specializing in mechanical construction and contracting services is looking for a payroll administrator to bring on for a 5-month project. This position will be responsible for all payroll processing, accurate and timely calculation, tax computations and more. You will be the main support to the accounting department and serve as a liaison between payroll functions and HR. Responsibilities include:
- Processing payroll which includes maintenance and reporting of time and attendance records, correct calculation of pay rates, employee changes, deductions, addons, and paid time off.
- Preparation of and verification of documentation required in connection with all union benefits issues
- Assist in the development of all payroll procedures by suggesting improvements or changes to achieve much greater efficiency
- Perform other duties requested with the Accounting Department
- Work closely with Accounting Supervisor and CFO to develop and stay consistent with necessary procedures and internal controls related to payroll accounting
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and internal policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or other higher training in the field of accounting
- 3 – 5 years payroll experience
- Excellent mathematical skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
