About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to serve as the senior nursing executive, responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and advancement of nursing practice. The CNO will ensure excellence in patient care delivery, professional nursing practice, workforce development, and clinical outcomes. This role involves contributing to the strategic direction of the hospital, working closely with physician and administrative leaders, and promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. The CNO will also be a key member of the senior executive leadership team, with a focus on integrating the nursing perspective into organizational decisions and leading initiatives that support the hospital's mission of exceptional patient care, education, and research. Candidates for the CNO position at the company must have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, a Master’s degree in nursing or a related field, and be eligible for RN licensure in the state of New York. A minimum of 10 years of nurse leadership experience in a hospital setting is required, along with strong operational and financial acumen, and a proven track record in leading and partnering around a vision for clinical excellence. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of professional practice models, systems thinking, and quality improvement, and be a highly effective leader with the ability to relate to interdisciplinary teams. Experience with the Magnet Recognition Program, process improvement, and managing organizational change initiatives is essential. The CNO will also be expected to have a strong background in talent recruitment, retention, and development, and to foster a work environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.
