Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Anesthesiology

 This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality anesthesia care within a leading medical practice, supporting patient safety and surgical success.

As a Locum Anesthesiologist, you will provide perioperative and procedural anesthesia services, evaluating patients, developing individualized anesthetic plans, and monitoring patients throughout procedures. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and the broader care team to ensure seamless, patient-centered outcomes in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and assess patient medical history, risk factors, and current conditions
• Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans for surgical and procedural cases
• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia as appropriate
• Monitor patient vital signs and anesthetic depth throughout procedures
• Manage intraoperative complications and respond promptly to emergencies
• Oversee post-anesthesia recovery and ensure safe patient transition
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document anesthesia records, clinical findings, and treatment plans accurately
• Adhere to institutional protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Completed residency in Anesthesiology
• Active and unrestricted medical license eligible for practice in Florida
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology
• Current DEA registration and valid CPR/ACLS certification
• Strong knowledge of anesthetic pharmacology, airway management, and perioperative care
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
• Commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and ethical practice

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-5p

Rotating Call: Weekdays 7p-7a, weekends 7a-7a

Daily Volume: 34 patients

Cases: CV and general

Support Staff: Physician and CRNAs

EMR: Medaxion

Must be board-certified or board-eligible

DEA required
