Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Anesthesiology

 This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality anesthesia care within a leading medical practice, supporting patient safety and surgical success in a dynamic clinical environment.

As a Locum Anesthesiologist, you will deliver comprehensive perioperative anesthesia services, evaluate patients prior to procedures, and ensure optimal pain management and recovery. This associate-level contract role is ideal for physicians seeking flexible, on-site clinical engagement in the medical practice industry.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia for surgical and diagnostic procedures across a range of patient populations
• Conduct pre-anesthesia patient evaluations and develop individualized anesthesia plans
• Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia delivery throughout procedures
• Manage airway, respiratory, and hemodynamic stability during surgery
• Provide post-anesthesia care and oversee patient recovery
• Manage acute pain and respond promptly to intraoperative complications
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and institutional policies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Completed residency in Anesthesiology
• Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Florida
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology
• Current DEA registration and valid CPR/ACLS certifications
• Strong knowledge of general and regional anesthesia techniques
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure surgical environments
• Preferred: Prior locum or contract experience in a medical practice setting
• Preferred: Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-5p
