Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year, based on leadership experience
• Signing Bonus: To be confirmed with client prior to publishing
• Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case for qualified candidates
• Schedule: Monday–Friday base management, with line flying roughly once every two weeks on Northeast regional routes (Teterboro, NJ and nearby corridors)

Job Summary
This role suits a seasoned Part 135 pilot ready to step into permanent base leadership. It's weighted heavily toward management — roughly 95% base operations, 5% flying — offering a predictable schedule while keeping the successful candidate active in the cockpit. Reporting to the senior Chief Pilot, this person will serve as the operational lead for the HPN base, managing a 95-pilot team and a 38-aircraft fleet, with particular focus on developing junior flight crew. Candidates without a current Pilatus PC-12 type rating will have training fully sponsored upon hire.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage day-to-day performance for a 95-person flight crew, handling performance issues directly and constructively
• Work alongside senior leadership and the Chief Pilot to keep daily operations running smoothly and communication flowing between crews and dispatch
• Run pilot evaluations, standardization checks at the base level, and recurrent training
• Ensure the base stays compliant with FAA Part 135 regulations and the company's General Operations Manual
• Help recruit, interview, and onboard incoming pilots

 

 

Minimum Requirements

• Background as an Assistant Chief Pilot, Base Lead, or Chief Pilot managing 10+ pilots
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Part 135 operational experience
• FAA Commercial or ATP certificate with relevant ratings
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
• Solid interpersonal and conflict-resolution ability, with proven success mentoring junior crew

Ideal Qualifications

• CFI, CFII, or MEI credentials
• Experience serving as a Check Airman or Check Pilot
