Industrial Maintenance Electrical Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Position: Industrial Maintenance Electrical Maintenance Technician Location: Jefferson, TX Pay Rate: $30.80 - $35.24 - based on experience Shift: First shift with OT Responsibilities Understand and comply with safety policies and procedures. Perform all tasks in a safe manner and set the standard for safe behavior. Look out for coworkers’ safety and actively manage safety improvement processes. Proactively maintain, improve, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems/processes/equipment. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain AC and DC drives/motors. Effectively troubleshoot PLC programs and modify or write programs as required by location. Weld and fabricate electrical, piping, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment as required. Perform shop work using machining and shop equipment such as lathes, drills, and milling machines. Safely and effectively troubleshoot and assess equipment issues/failures. Implement corrective actions and conduct root cause analysis, ensuring corrective actions minimize repeat failures. Assist in the development, modification, and implementation of procedures/activities to drive zero failure. Drive the proactive maintenance process to eliminate unplanned failures. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks and procedures. Participate in the development, improvement, and optimization of preventive/predictive maintenance procedures and tasks. Communicate effectively with operations personnel to identify and resolve abnormal or degraded equipment conditions. Help develop operator skill sets to enable asset ownership at the operator level. Document all maintenance activity in the Computerized Maintenance Management System to build an accurate database of asset history. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment inspection, lubrication, and access for new and existing equipment. Identify and use the proper tools for each job. Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in all maintenance work areas. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Demonstrated competency in the skills outlined in the IMRT competency matrix (I, II, III, & Sr). Technical knowledge to maintain, improve, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems/processes/equipment. Ability to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, including PLC program logic. Experience performing electrical work in compliance with NFPA 70E – Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. Welding and machining/fabrication skills (skill level determined by location). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in using a CMMS. Ability to adapt to and help lead change. Ability to master and employ new skills as required by new processes, technologies, or advancement opportunities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities. Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Strong proactive maintenance and reliability mindset. Qualifications Minimum education: High school diploma (preferably with a vocational focus). Preferred education: Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical field. Minimum experience (preferred): IMRT I – 4+ years, II – 6+ years, III – 8+ years, Sr – 10+ years.
