Registered Nurse (RN) - Endoscopy

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients in a Phase 2 recovery area post-endoscopy procedures. The primary role involves admitting and recovering endoscopy patients while ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing services in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Admit and recover endoscopy patients in a Phase 2 recovery area.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions throughout the recovery process.
• Collaborate efficiently with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
• Assist in the procedure room with necessary equipment, working closely with CRNAs and fellow RNs.
• Administer moderate sedation under the supervision of experienced staff.
• Help coordinate advanced procedures, including pulmonary robot bronchoscopy, EBUS, ERCP, EUS, EMR, ESD, as well as routine EGD and colon procedures.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in pre/post endoscopy care.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required.
• Experience with moderate sedation protocols preferred.
• Ability to care for 2-3 patients at one time in the recovery area.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with patients and staff effectively.

Work Environment

The role is based in a short-term acute care setting that is recognized as a Magnet facility and a teaching environment with a total of 672 staffed beds. The nursing team is supported by advanced equipment and technology, including Excellian/Epic for charting. Scrubs will be provided by the unit, ensuring a professional and consistent appearance.

Shift Information

Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with 10-hour shifts. There are no weekend or on-call requirements. The average daily census involves about 18 procedures per day, enhancing the opportunity for robust clinical experience.
