Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: 2 Years Required; First-Time Travelers with Strong Experience Accepted License: RN License Certifications: BLS Required; CNOR Preferred Must-Have: Circulating and Scrub Experience Description: Seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse for a Shock Trauma department. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room settings. First-time travelers with strong experience are welcomed to apply. Circulating and scrub experience is mandatory for this role. Shifts will include rotating days and varying hours, primarily from 07:00 to 15:30, 07:00 to 19:30. Weekend and on-call coverage is required, with a minimum of one weekend per month. Participation in holiday assignments as scheduled is also necessary. The unit consists of nine operating rooms. Patient ratios are typically 1:1 during the day and night shifts. Floating may be required within the specialty and peri-operatively, including pre-op/PACU as needed. On-call coverage consists of 36 hours pre-scheduled over a six-week cycle. Candidates must be comfortable floating within their scope without special requests. Daily census is managed with a ratio of 1 patient per nurse. The role involves comprehensive support from interdisciplinary teams including IV teams and rapid response teams, among others. A strong emphasis on infection control and patient safety protocols is essential. Focused skills include scrub experience in various surgical procedures and adherence to universal protocols. This position requires up-to-date compliance with certification and licensure standards.
