The posted compensation range of $25.00 - $27.67 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability. This position is represented by the SEIU-UHW. Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills.. To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients.

• Obtains pre-authorizations for procedures, imaging, tests, medications
• Accurately submits RX requests to pharmacies within 30 minutes after obtaining a physicians written order
• Proactively contributes to organizational excellence
• Utilizes work time efficiently through proper time management

Required

• High School Graduate General Studies or High School GED General Studies
• Satisfactory completion of formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by DHMF HR department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health)
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant
• 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist or an equivalent amount of experience in a highvolume customer service role in another industry/environment working with referrals or scheduling surgeries
• Experience in billing
• Prior call center experience preferred
• Experience with multi-line phones/ACD phones preferred
• Prior call center experience preferred
