Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Nurse located in the area is sought for a full-time position on the night shift. This role involves providing both routine and complex care to patients within the Medical Surgical Department, with an emphasis on independent practice and clinical judgment. The nurse will contribute to patient care planning, assessments, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) license or current Compact state RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a related specialty; Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Medical Surgical (MS) nursing setting preferred
• Float: Float to all Medical/Surgical departments as needed
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patients
  • Administer medications and treatments according to protocol, monitor for side effects, and document care provided
  • Assess and address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health management and discharge planning
  • Make appropriate patient care assignments and delegate duties to other healthcare providers as needed
