Assistant Banking Center Manager

Overview Camden National Bank is seeking a dedicated branch manager to lead and grow a local banking center. The role focuses on business development, sales, service management, people leadership, risk and compliance oversight, and community engagement. Responsibilities Oversee and direct activities of banking center staff, ensuring performance meets or exceeds goals in service, sales, and operations. Lead service and sales management efforts and implement sales and service programs to promote retention, expansion, and acquisition of customer relationships. Recruit, develop, coach, and motivate staff for optimum performance, holding staff accountable for results. Lead and actively participate in business development activities for both consumer and small business customers. Employ building trusted relationship skills to acquire, expand, and retain customer relationships. Demonstrate strong knowledge of bank products and solutions and communicate effectively with customers, business representatives, and community organizations. Manage all aspects of people management, including recruiting, development, engagement, and performance management. Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities. Examine, evaluate, and process loan applications in accordance with established procedures, ensuring safekeeping and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities. Coordinate and monitor activities to implement institution policies, procedures, and practices concerning lines of credit, real‑estate loans, consumer credit loans, and commercial loans. Oversee risk and compliance, including formal audit results, and support the Bank’s CRA policy. Manage day‑to‑day operations of the facility, including maintenance and safety. Qualifications Education: Four‑year college degree or equivalent. Experience: Minimum five years of similar or related experience. Knowledge of financial, commercial, and technical practices required for the position. Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups. Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply basic algebra and geometry concepts. Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in multiple forms. Computer skills: Knowledge of accounting software, contact management systems, database software, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
