Job Description - CONTRACTS OFFICER-ACADEMIC RESEARCH ORGANIZATION-CLINICAL TRIALS (T238564) CONTRACTS OFFICER-ACADEMIC RESEARCH ORGANIZATION-CLINICAL TRIALS - ( T238564 ) Description CONTRACTS OFFICER-ACADEMIC RESEARCH ORGANIZATION-CLINICAL TRIALS The University of Alabama at Birmingham General Responsibilities Responsible for reviewing, editing, routing, negotiating and executing industry sponsored and investigator initiated clinical trial contracts. The Contract Officer will represent the University in negotiating legal terms and conditions of clinical trial agreements with industry sponsors. Will assist faculty researchers with contractual matters related to clinical trial agreements Key Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for effectively managing the UAB clinical trial portfolio which includes clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements, study start-up agreements, master agreements, data use agreements, amendments, work orders, and no cost extensions. Ensure institutional Time to Activation (TTA) standards for CT related agreements are consistently met. Draft, review, revise and negotiate and revise clinical trial agreements including complex agreements; assesses and manages associated risks, identifying potentially objectionable terms and conditions and determining appropriate language to ensure best position for University. Ensure that agreements comply with University policies and procedures and federal, state, local and international regulations and laws. Efficiently and effectively negotiates terms and conditions of agreements with third party sponsors. Update applicable information systems, including myUABResearch frequently with detailed progress reports to ensure effective transparency to the UAB research community. Performs other duties as assigned. Salary Pay Range $57,940 – $94,150 Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Science, or related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Juris Doctor degree preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
