Urgent Care Advanced Practitioner Hourly PRN, NP or PA-c Company: University of Maryland Medical System Location: Baltimore, MD Employment Type: Part-time Job Categories: Healthcare, Practitioner and Technician, Medical Responsibilities As a PRN provider, you will: Cover the Baltimore region of Maryland, providing equal coverage across our Rotunda, Belvedere Square, and Dundalk locations. Deliver exceptional medical care to patients ages one and older, treating a wide range of conditions including upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, lacerations requiring sutures, employee health physicals, work‑related injuries, and pre‑operative evaluations. Provide at least two days of availability each month, with two of those days being weekends, and one day of availability each month as the emergency on‑call provider for all facilities. Collaborate closely with medical assistants and radiologic technologists in a supportive team environment. Qualifications Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in good standing with the state of Maryland, or licensure pending approval. Active NPI number, DEA registration, and CDS license required, or in the process of obtaining them. Prior clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, intensive care, or primary care settings is strongly preferred. Proactive, growth‑oriented mindset with a genuine passion for delivering high‑quality patient care. Intellectually curious, enthusiastic about urgent care medicine, and open to feedback as part of ongoing professional development. Additional Information At the start of employment, we provide side‑by‑side clinical training shifts to ensure new providers develop hands‑on procedural skills, core clinical knowledge, and EHR proficiency needed for success. Ongoing support is available at all times, with APP and physician leadership accessible by phone during all operating hours, ensuring providers are never without guidance when needed.
