Field Service Technician

Summary:
Install, commission, troubleshoot, upgrade, and support automated bakery, packaging, and industrial equipment at customer facilities across North America. Ideal for a mechanically and electrically skilled technician comfortable with extensive travel and customer-facing work.
Key Responsibilities:
Travel: Approximately 75% , including frequent overnight and multi-week assignments throughout the U.S. and Canada, with occasional international travel.
Install, commission, troubleshoot, upgrade, and support automated bakery, packaging, and industrial equipment at customer facilities across North America. Ideal for a mechanically and electrically skilled technician comfortable with extensive travel and customer-facing work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, startup, test, and troubleshoot automated equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, PLC, and controls issues.
- Perform equipment upgrades, retrofits, and system enhancements.
- Train customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Use PLC software and machine controls for diagnostics and approved modifications.
- Prepare detailed service reports and coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales.
- Provide professional customer support, including emergency/24/7 service rotations.
- 3+ years of experience servicing industrial machinery, automation, packaging, or manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and industrial controls.
- Ability to work independently and travel extensively.
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Valid driver's license and passport required.
- Mechatronics background.
- Bakery, food processing, packaging, or automated manufacturing experience.
- Experience with PLCs, servo systems, VFDs, HMIs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial networking.
- Technical certification, associate degree, military technical training, or equivalent experience.
Travel: Approximately 75% , including frequent overnight and multi-week assignments throughout the U.S. and Canada, with occasional international travel.
