Lab Assistant (Student Worker)Location: Post University Main Campus, MacDermid Hall Supervisor: Laura Bailey, Associate Program Chair of Life and Physical Sciences & Lab Manager Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week Pay: Minimum Wage Duration: Academic Year 2026-2027 (year-round opportunity)About the RoleAs a Lab Assistant, you'll help support the daily operations of the Life and Physical Sciences Department (LPSD). This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment while supporting faculty, instructors, and fellow students.What You'll DoAssist faculty and lab instructors with preparing materials and setting up laboratory and field activitiesClean and organize laboratory equipment, glassware, and workspacesHelp maintain an efficient and safe laboratory environmentComplete other department-related tasks as assignedQualificationsTo be successful in this role, you should:Have completed at least one high school laboratory science courseBe currently enrolled in a college laboratory science course (completion of a college lab course is preferred)Be reliable, responsible, and able to work independentlyBe comfortable handling laboratory glassware and equipmentCommunicate effectively with faculty, staff, and fellow student assistantsPreferably be majoring in a laboratory science program at Post University (Biology minors are also encouraged to apply)What You'll GainThis position offers valuable hands-on experience in laboratory operations, including:Laboratory and field experiment setupEquipment preparation and useLaboratory safety practices and proceduresProfessional skills in organization, teamwork, and communicationThis opportunity is open to Post University students only.
