Our organization is seeking to expand its team by adding a Gastroenterologist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County . This facility operates a prestigious Level I Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, catering to the healthcare needs of approximately 2.6 million residents from Brooklyn and Staten Island.

The Gastroenterologist will be responsible for delivering both inpatient and outpatient gastrointestinal care, depending on the schedule. Primarily, this role involves overseeing fellows as they assess and treat patients, formulate treatment plans, and ensure proper follow-up care.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising or conducting endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies and endoscopies, in a modern endoscopy suite with skilled staff.

• Providing weekend and evening on-call coverage, supervising GI fellows on a 1-in-8 call rotation.

• Mentoring medical students and residents assigned to the gastroenterology and hepatology service.

• Accepting an Academic Appointment at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

• Current New York State medical license (or the ability to obtain one).

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.

The annual base salary is set at $361,000* for Board Eligible candidates and $371,000* for Board Certified candidates, based on a 40-hour work week. Additional compensation is available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The estimated total annual compensation package is approximately $451,420** for Board Eligible candidates and $461,520** for Board Certified candidates , which encompasses the base salary, 401(k) contributions, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors outlined below:

• Estimated annual earnings for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked weekly is $55,520.

• 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS limits):

  • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings, with no employee match required.

  • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings, with no employee match required.

• Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) reimbursement.

• Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) including vacation, sick leave, holidays, and CME days.

• Comprehensive Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Premium plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.

• Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equivalent to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) at no cost to you.

  • Additional voluntary Life and AD&D coverage options are available for you and your family.

• Loan Forgiveness: This position may qualify for loan forgiveness through specific state or federal programs.

• Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.

• Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).

• Pre-tax contributions for commuting expenses.

• Visa sponsorship may be available for this position.
