Process Technology Engineer

This Process Technology Engineer role is a newly created position at our client to help drive growth and innovation at the company. You will report to the Director of Technology who works remote. Your job will be to try new things, be innovative, push new technology! This position will start out very hands-on, in the plant daily doing process and product engineering and development. You will push new technology to upgrade current systems, do scale-ups, look for CI opportunities, run and assist in plant trials, do data collection and analysis and do early-stage process and product development. You will work cross-functionally often. There is some flexibility as to how the hours of this position get structured and where. For example, you might chose a 9/80 work schedule, or after some time on site, it's possible this person work in a hybrid capacity with a few days at home and a few days at the plant, but that would come later.

Recruiting Guidelines:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related Engineering degree.
• 2+ years of engineering experience at the plant level
• Must enjoy being hands-on, in the plant, making improvements, solving problems and driving growth.
• This is a heavy industrial, dirty environment, ambient temperatures. NO pharmaceutical or food manufacturing please.
• Must have strong communication skills to work effectively across all functions.
• The manager for this role is based in another state, so you must be self-motivated, action-oriented, be able to work with minimal guidance, and know how to navigate a plant.

This plant is located about 25 minutes from Grundy, VA, in Buchanan County, VA. It's on the far Western edge of Virginia near the Appalachian Mountains, near the Kentucky border.
