Lone Mountain Land Company (LMLC) manages the planning, entitlement, building, marketing, and sale of premier real estate communities around Big Sky, Montana. The company supports world-class operations at Spanish Peaks Mountain Club and Moonlight Basin and oversees real estate activities at Spanish Peaks, Moonlight Basin, Big Sky Town Center, and other projects in the Big Sky region.
Position Overview The Systems Administrator supports IT operations, infrastructure, and user systems while working closely with the Help Desk, internal IT leadership, and external consulting partners. Key Responsibilities- Perform routine system maintenance and operational tasks, including work that may occur outside standard business hours
- Collect technical information, diagnose issues, develop solutions, and drive issues through to resolution
- Support daily IT operations including user systems, endpoints, and core infrastructure
- Work closely with the Help Desk to resolve escalated issues and ensure timely resolution of user-impacting problems
- Troubleshoot and support workstations and endpoints, the Microsoft 365 environment, and basic networking and connectivity issues
- Follow direction and technical guidance from senior engineers and external consulting partners
- Assist with system monitoring, alert response, and proactive issue identification
- Participate in system deployments, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements
- Create and maintain accurate documentation including system configurations, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles
- Clearly communicate technical issues and resolutions to both technical staff and end users, written and verbal
- Escalate issues appropriately when they exceed skill level or require architectural input
- Assist in maintaining system security, patching, and compliance with organizational standards
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, and security
- Maintain professionalism in a high-service, hospitality-driven environment
- 5+ years of IT experience, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
- Entry-level Microsoft or equivalent certifications completed or actively in progress
- Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems (client and basic server) and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
- Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
- Familiarity with core infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, Remote Desktop Services, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document work clearly
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within a team
- Willingness to learn, grow, and take feedback from senior engineers and consulting partners
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
