Collections Specialist - Hybrid/Mostly Remote from Houston Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM) | Hybrid At Legacy Community Health, we believe in the power of community and the impact that dedicated individuals like you can have on healthcare. As a Specialist in Collections, you'll be part of a team that is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. Key Responsibilities Engage with insurance companies to follow up on unpaid insurance accounts, leveraging aging reports. Identify and report trends and issues related to billing and reimbursements to your Supervisor. Process appeals independently and handle billing calls and questions from patients and third-party carriers. Analyze and interpret claims to ensure accuracy in submissions to insurance companies. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers through phone calls and written communications. Research and document account activity, posting adjustments as necessary. Maintain patient confidence and protect medical office operations by keeping patient information confidential. Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and performing other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED. Minimum of two years of related experience in a business, medical, or technical environment. Previous experience in a medical office setting and/or experience with an Electronic Medical Record is a plus. Understanding of medical terminology and insurance laws/guidelines. Excellent organization and time management skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong team player. Ability to learn quickly, build and maintain long-term relationships, and work with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical, organizational and time management skills required. Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and decision‑making responsibilities.
