Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN requiring 2+ years of prior travel experience and TX or compact RN licensure for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit caring primarily for adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 and 4x12 hour options (7:00-19:00) on a 36/48 hour alternating schedule
• Permanent staff available for support when needed
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in-hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of prior travel nursing experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration; BiPAP/CPAP management preferred
• Experience managing medications including heparin, insulin, PCA, and non-titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Comfortable using isolation precautions/PPE and responding to rapid response/code team situations
• Telemetry and MS/Tele experience preferred
• Current Nursys verification required

Additional Information

• Must reside outside a 110-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Candidates must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a plan in place for timely completion
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing, and a positive result results in automatic cancellation
• Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen upon arrival
