A day in the life

Your day starts in the CMMS—reviewing preventive maintenance tasks and overnight equipment notes. You’ll head to the production floor to inspect critical tools, verify utilities, and run checks on electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Mid‑shift, a production line calls: an unexpected fault halts a machine. You diagnose, swap components, test, and bring it back online safely and quickly. Later, you collaborate with the maintenance lead to plan priorities, requisition parts, and prepare for an upcoming audit—documenting every repair and PM activity along the way. Before you clock out, you tidy the work area to lean and 5S standards and log today’s updates to keep the team in sync.

What you’ll do

• Install, maintain, and improve production machinery and facility equipment in a clean, controlled manufacturing environment.
• Execute routine and scheduled preventive maintenance; visually inspect and test assigned equipment for proper functionality.
• Respond to emergency/unscheduled breakdowns during production; troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform accurate maintenance and service.
• Diagnose faults, replace or repair components, conduct testing, and adjust systems to specification.
• Perform basic building upkeep, including plumbing and carpentry tasks.
• Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material‑handling equipment safely and effectively.
• Identify faulty operations or defective materials and promptly report unusual conditions to supervision.
• Track and maintain electronic maintenance and repair records in the maintenance management system.
• Order and requisition parts; help manage spares, inventory, and vendor/contractor coordination.
• Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and compliant practices.
• Partner with the maintenance lead to plan work priorities and align tasks with team capabilities.
• Assess building systems and equipment to determine maintenance and repair needs.
• Assist teammates with complex technical problems and knowledge sharing.
• Follow health and safety rules and uphold ISO, IATF, Lean, and good‑housekeeping standards.

Skills you bring

• Strong mechanical knowledge and electrical troubleshooting capability.
• Working understanding of building and utility systems; ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Computer literacy for CMMS and digital recordkeeping; proficiency with Microsoft Office for logs, reports, and inventory.
• Preferred exposure to locksmithing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or painting.
• Keen diagnostic sense—able to spot issues and determine effective repairs.

Background and qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of hands‑on industrial maintenance experience.
• Associate degree and experience training/leading others preferred.
