Night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while ensuring patient and employee safety in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely information on patient status for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation of all assessments and interventions.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Promote personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning through calm direction and reassurance.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and maintain effective communication with management.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through education and self-study.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (For CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience required.
