Lead Automation Engineer
Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to join their team. As a Lead Engineer, you will be part of the Automation Services department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, innovative thinking, and a collaborative mindset.
Location: Laurel, Maryland
Pay Range: $75/hr depending on years of experience
What's the Job?
- Design and implement scalable automation frameworks and solutions, including AI capabilities where applicable
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve automation-related issues to ensure high availability and business continuity
- Mentor and coach junior engineers on automation best practices, coding standards, and problem-solving approaches
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify automation opportunities within infrastructure, testing, and operational workflows
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and accelerate delivery
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Five to eight years of experience in automation engineering, test automation, DevOps, or related areas
- Must have experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, RE Framework) and automation technologies (e.g., UiPath, BluePrism, Automation Anywhere)
- Proven experience designing and implementing complex automation solutions at scale
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript)
