Pharmacy Cashier

Position Title: Pharmacy Cashier Location: Salem, OR Employment: Full time | Exempt Status: Non‑exempt | ID: 16774 Position Highlights 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) $18.35-$22.48/hour DOE with the potential for higher for highly experienced candidates Additional pay for bilingual skills, paid on hours worked 100% employer‑paid health insurance (medical, dental, vision, Rx, 24/7 telemedicine) Profit sharing & 403(b) retirement plan available Generous PTO, 8 paid holidays, and more What You'll Do Assist patients at the pharmacy counter by delivering prescriptions, collecting payments, and coordinating pharmacist counseling as needed Enter and verify patient, prescription, and billing information accurately in pharmacy systems Answer phones and respond to non‑clinical inquiries, routing calls appropriately Process prescription refills and assist with third‑party billing and prior authorizations as permitted by state regulations Support inventory management by restocking medications, checking expiration dates, and verifying incoming orders Maintain pharmacy documentation and workflows in compliance with YVFWC, HRSA, and regulatory standards Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care, or customer service experience Pharmacy Assistant state registration required within 60 days of hire (or active Pharmacy Intern License) Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills required at a level 9 Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment Effective communication and customer service skills Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Basic knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy workflows Experience using pharmacy software systems Drug testing: This position requires testing for controlled substances before employment and will be subject to further testing throughout employment.
